    all your logic can go out the window and fear can come in many forms.
    another thing that can happen, the government will try to affect your leadership…
    as long as you don’t keep talking to your leaders, and they go off on their own…
    they can get that fear instilled in them…
    and you need to be unified

  • …. and so the words that come out of your mouth are medicine also, if your words are ….. of strength and love… you can’t focus on what’s wrong with the people or whats wrong with the leadership…. You need to focus on what’s right…..

July 4 2009 Onkwehonwe funeral procession spent 3+ hours trying to get through the ny state troopers and usa customs border patrol agents barracade in the center of our community of Akwesasne.

  • audio 48: The funeral procession moves forward to Kahweno:ke copyright 2009 monica peters, all rights reserved. e the cbp leader dropped his tiny rude phone and it smashed all over the road.
  • audio 49: white cbp leader on new phone as funeral procession goes through copyright 2009 monica peters all rights reserved the cbp leader started accusing the indians of blocking the road. I let him know that I got it all on camera, that the police were actually the only ones blocking the road.

July 5 2009

  • Kanietakeron asks to speak with leader of usa customs building
  • Kanietakeron, Larry, Mike, Monica meet with usa border patrol agents around 8pmish July 5 2009 the beginning is staticy sounding as we walk up stairs and get a brief tour of the new usa border patrol’s building.  The usa customs border patrol agents let us know that they are just ‘doing their jobs’, that cbsa and seaway corp. hired them to stop Onkwehonwe from travelling freely in their own territory.
  • Kanietakeron, Larry, Mike, Monica return North to Kahweno:ke the usa border patrol stood at the side of the road and did not stop us, as we drove back home to the north.

July 8 2009

  • Monica Kanietekeron drive north through usa cbp blockade around noon to join friends and family at Kawehno:ke CrossRoads.
  • Monica talks with elders, Sarah Day and Bob Laughing about the time when cbsa arrested them in 1968. We were all at the Kawehno:ke CrossRoads later in the afternoon.
