Peace Caravan is Here in Akwesasne :)

I was all over the island yesterday, shooting videos and pictures. I watched facebook for updates from the Peace Caravan. At one point, the Peace Caravan stated that they had 9 cars in their caravan. I thought, that will be no problem to park their cars at the CrossRoads. When they finally got here though, they had alot more than 9 cars! It was so awesome.

Neddie and I setup our cameras in the back of my husband’s van. We parked our van at the tollbooth, with the hopes of getting great views. We heard the Peace Caravan before we saw them. Their horns were honking as they drove over the bridge towards us. They all parked at the toll booth and went to a welcome fire. Mike Mitchell and Harriett Boots welcomed everyone with good words.

Some of our visitors offered good words too. They had a long journey. One hitch-hiked from Vancouver. Another one hitch-hiked from Tyendinaga area. A student and her mother are visiting us from Chile. It was so awesome to have so many friends visit us here on our island, and we did not have to beg anyone for permission to let friends visit us here.

We also had a few visitors that are reporters too. They asked a few questions, shot pictures and videos. Here are some video that I shot of yesterday.
