Katenies Davis is home in Akwesasne after bail hearing friday january 8, 2010.

This is just a quick note to let readers know that Katenies Janet Davis attended a bail hearing at the Cornwall Courthouse today.  I am very happy to report that Katenies is home with her family and friends in Akwesasne!

The gallery was packed with supporters.  A huge number of police also attended wearing full body armor and stood at the courthouse entry.   Every supporter had to enter a large metal detector, have a metal detector wand waved on them, their bags and pockets were all searched too..

After each of us were searched, one officer demanded that everyone leave their bags, mixed into a big pile on the floor outside of the court room, unattended and unmarked.  After some verbal debate, I was finally able to go into the courtroom and sit undisturbed.   I requested that the officer search my entire bag as many times as they wanted,  if that is what they felt they needed to do, in order to stop disturbing me.  The officer finally stated that she wanted me to sit way at the back of the court room and that I had to agree that I would not change my seat.  I was more than happy to just continue on my way and witness the court hearing, undisturbed.  The officers finally let me continue on my way and sit at the back of the court room and listen to the hearing :)

Details about what I heard and saw,  at Katenies’ bail court,  will be posted very soon.  Please leave your comments and messages of support for Katenies and her family here.
