The Akwesasne community is invited to attend the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal that is scheduled to take place on November 9, 10, 12, and 13th from 9:30 AM until 5 PM at the Nav Canada Centre in Cornwall Ontario.

For four years, Davis has been in and out of federal courts, regarding the Canadian Border Services Agency CBSA ( A Canadian Union) be held accountable, for their violation of Human Rights. Davis is a young mother from Akwesasne.

Davis has been in and out of Federal Courts 4 years. It has been 4 years since the November 18th 2005 incident. She has been in the Federal Court fighting the Attorney General of Canada, Department of Justice Canada since February 2009. The Attorney General of Canada & Department of Justice Canada, have been trying to quash this case from proceeding to the Tribunal for further inquiry/ investigation. Davis was successful at getting this case to proceed to the Tribunal, even after 4 attempts of the Attorney General & Department Justice of Canada, trying to stop it from proceeding to The Tribunal.

The Akwesasne community was forced to experience intimidation, harassment, and abuse from CBSA Union Workers, on a daily basis. Many in Akwesasne, have reason to beleive that when they filed complaints against the chronic abusers from CBSA, that they were ignored, discredited, and many of their filed complaints were actually destroyed (tossed into the garbage can).

Earlier this year, in May 2009, CBSA left their post on Kawehno:ke (aka Cornwall Island), when the Akwesasne community gathered around the CBSA building to state they can not allow the CBSA abusers to carry guns in their community. Akwesasne residents stated that their human rights complaints were being thrown away into the garbage, ignored, and even made fun of, by the accused CBSA agents. CBSA responded by leaving their building and asked that the Seaway Corporation hire all surrounding police and military agencies to barracade every road leading to and from Kawehno:ke.

When my husband and I were on the north edge of the bridge leading out of Kawehno:ke (aka Cornwall Island), to Cornwall Ontario, we were met by a road barracade full of Cornwall Police. The Police approached our vehicle, we rolled down our windows and they told us that they would allow us to leave, but they would never allow us to ever return back to our home on Kawehno:ke. The police even laughed after he saw the shocked looked on our faces.

So, I must say that I am very proud of Davis. Her path is not an easy, popular, or pretty one.

On friday afternoon, October 30th 2009, I watched and shot video, as a group of Onkwehonwe gathered in the village of Kanatakon (aka Akwesasne) (english call the location st. regis quebec & hogansburg ny border). A backhoe arrived and began carefully digging out a granite stone shaped like an Obelisk. A truck towing a trailer, parked nearby and the backhoe gently loaded the granite Obelisk onto it. A school bus full of children passed by and waved to everyone gathered around the Obelisk.

The truck pulled away and headed south towards the Hogansburg NY CrossRoads. When the truck and trailer got to the Hogansburg CrossRoads, police surrounded it and blocked all traffic from proceeding through the crossroads. I ran over to the CrossRoads with my cameras to find out what was going on their.

When I arrived to the CrossRoads, police had the truck and trailer surrounded. Vehicles were lined up for miles from all directions at the CrossRoads, including school buses. I approached each police officer and asked each one of them who they work for and why were they stopping traffic. Video details are found online at YouTube.com/monigarr

I am interviewing some of the Onkwehonwe that were on the scene while the Obelisk was removed and when the police surrounded the truck and trailer that carried it away. I’ve been told that Akwesasne has at least 17 more stone obelisks. I wonder if they all have secret treasures (scrolls, time capsules, metal, knowledge) hidden and buried in their pedestals and footings?

Today, on Monday November 2nd 2009, a few Onkwehonwe men discovered an Iron Obelisk hidden inside the stone base of the Granite Obelisk (land marker of U.S. & Canada International Border). Other priceless treasures were also found hidden deep inside the stone, rock, and granite base of the U.S. & Canada International Border Marker. It’s very heavy and requires a jack-hammer to dis-assemble.

The iron obelisk has the year 1842 marked on it. It also mentions The Washington Treaty and other interesting marks. We are researching the dates, names, numbers, and markings now and will share what we discover as soon as we can right here.

Video interview will be posted soon. Here are some photos of a few of the things that I can show, that we found hidden inside the Granite Obelisk that used to be located in Kanatakon (Akwesasne, aka St. Regis Quebec & HogansBurg NY border) from August 1847 until the date it was removed on October 30th 2009. Wow, that is more than 100 years that this stuff was hidden from Onkwehonwe eyeballs!

The following images show part of a metal obelis that was discovered hidden inside the stone base of the U.S. & Canada Land Marker. It has writing on it and it’s actually hollow inside where more interesting stuff was found. I will post more details about the objects discovered inside, with a series of posts here this week.

Friday afternoon, October 30 2009 in Kanatakon. Onkwehonwe removed one of the british land markers that were forced on Onkwehonwe Lands, back in the early 1900s.

Around the time that the US & Canada land markers were forced onto our lands, Onkwehonwe children (our grandparents) were also being forcefully removed from their families, brought to residential schools where they were raped, tortured, murdered, threatened, intimidated, brainwashed, and forced to become the property of the US & Canada corporations.

More details on the way.

The Cornwall Chamber of Commerce sent this letter to Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan, requesting that he take an active role and interest in the safety and wellbeing of Cornwall Ontario.

October 27, 2009
The Hon. Peter Van Loan
Minister of Public Safety
House of Commons
Ottawa, Ontario
K1A 0A6

Dear Minister Van Loan:

As you are no doubt aware from your briefings, the Cornwall International Crossing issue has not been resolved. In fact, and according to recent media reports, negotiations are at a standstill and progress has been non-existent.

While it is not my intent to burden you with opposition rhetoric, MP Bob Rae, during a visit to Cornwall, offered the following observation and I should point out he readily acknowledges the issue to be a complex one. According to Mr. Rae, “This can’t be seen as a minor issue for the [CBSA] agency to solve. It can’t be treated as a bureaucratic issue. It requires leadership on both sides.”

Speaking for the entire Chamber, I am in accord with Mr. Rae’s assessment and it follows that the time has come for the government to intervene. Both you and local MP, Guy Lauzon have stated that CBSA and Mohawk leaders have the ability to successfully negotiate without government assistance. Regrettably, that has not happened and the Chamber believes it is time for the government as a whole and your Ministry in particular to take an active role in steering the issue to a satisfactory close.

To that end, the Chamber strongly urges you to visit Cornwall and view, first hand, the situation and to meet with the parties involved. It is the Chamber’s view that until that kind of leadership is demonstrated, productive negotiations will not continue and the matter will not be resolved.

The uncertainty of the future with respect to Cornwall remaining an international crossing is already having an impact on the economic health of Cornwall and its surrounding region and may well affect the ability of the municipality to attract business, industry and new residents.

From a broader perspective, the issue is impacting both sides of the border. Moreover, it is serving to tarnish the image of a community that has strived to position itself as a desirable place to work and to live. Without your intervention and that of your Ministry, the impact will continue to affect the entire region.

Respectfully submitted,
Scott Armstrong
President

c.

Bob Kilger, Mayor of Cornwall
Guy Lauzon, MP
Mike Mitchell, Grand Chief: Mohawk Council of Akwesasne
